Sometimes (all the time) I feel like life is just series of problems that need to be solved. One by one, one after the other. Never ending.

I finally got my hands on Jack White's Lazaretto today. I am not objective when it comes to him, he could be singing the phone book I would still love it. Probably. So I'm not going to give my opinion or do an album review, but one song did stand out for me at first hearing, "Would you fight for my love", I'll see if it'll stick. For now I'll share his instrumental track, it played on my record player for a while until I remembered/noticed it was a never ending loop... Nevermind that people say "it feels like he's done this before on a White Stripes song", that is said to a person who also loves Johnny Cash who basically built a carrier with two chords. Now I'll go back to figuring out how and on which speed I'm supposed to play the hidden tracks...!

I never thought that a Bruce Springsteen album could become one of my favourite albums of the moment. This song being the best.

Two years on and a song
Two years ago I wrote on this blog for the very first time. I was sitting on the edge of my sister's bed who wasn't home, using her computer as I didn't have a working one at the time while my - now - husband was laying on a couch with a migraine. I was in North London. It's an odd feeling to be able to know exactly where you were and what you were doing two years ago. Well at least on such a random day, I guess wedding days and such don't count here. I can't really remember why I started a blog. I was reading a lot of them at the time and I guess I wanted part of it. I didn't know where I was going with this, I'm still not sure, but it's amazing to be able to keep track so clearly of those past two years. So much has happened. I got married, went to Tennessee for the first time - and hopefully not the last - moved from London to Brittany in the hope to farm, moved from Brittany to Paris for the time being. I often feel like I'm not doing anything with my life but I guess I'm not doing that bad. But I know there is so much more I need to do. But for now I'm tired from a busy day at work finishing at 9pm so I'm off. Thank you for coming by and reading. I'd love to hear from you!

We have moved in and we have nothing apart from a coffee table and a shelf with our record player. This song is playing right now and I must say I have a crush. On both of them.

I love that record - that is, Johnny Cash With his hot and blue guitar - and this song has been playing over and over and over - yes that much, I'm not exaggerating - again on my Ipod. I'm pretty impatient to get my guitar on Sunday when we are moving in our flat (if everything goes according to plan...). Busy and exciting week ahead.

Searching for a flat in Paris on a small budget is just depressing. So here is a bit of Dolly to cheer me up.

I took almost a week off blogging. Life has been tough lately and my head (and heart) wasn't into it. I don't feel like writing, I just want to switch my brain off, so I've been listenning to a lot of music. This is what is playing right now.

This has been the song on repeat on my Ipod for the past few days. I'm getting more and more into Interpol. Ten years too late. The worse part is that I actually saw them live at a festival and I don't really remember any of it.

This song has been on repeat on my Ipod lately. I have Connor Oberst/Bright Eyes phases, and when it happens I listen to it on repeat. Then I can go months without listening to his songs. I'm always teased for liking him, most people find him boring, I disagree but I can see their points. His music really moves me and it's probably more because it's very much linked in my memory to my last year of high school and first year at Uni. It's always sweet to listen to those old songs.

A little bit of Siouxsie on this sunny day off work. It reminds me of my first couple years in London, I hadn't listen to her in such a long time.

I've been listening to that band from Nashville quite a bit lately, it had been a while. I had the chance to see them in London quite a while ago and they were really good, definitely worth seeing them live, they sound better than studio recorded. Here is a cover they did at a Third Man Records gig. Check them out.

Very quickly posting a song, the Internet doesn't work at home and I have about 4 minutes left here.
First day off work and so far it's going great, so to celebrate that here is a song we play in the shop. Oh and if you are in Paris, come to see me at & Other Stories, it'd be lovely!
The Velvet Underground - Waiting for the man

Song of the #30
I've been day dreaming about going back to Nashville (day dreaming by looking up plane tickets...) and I've been listening to the White Stripes. I cannot wait for Jack White to tour again. Possibly with the Dead Weather, that would be pretty cool.
I'm also now officially a & Other Stories employee and that's pretty cool too.

Song of the day #29
We are now settled in Paris and I'm managing to get more or less wifi in the room. I have a new schedule for the new year and new ideas so let's hope the Internet will cooperate with me, it is a random and moody thing up here. Up here is a single room of 13 m² with a bed, shower, sink and a table under the roof of an old building, up seven floors without a lift. It sounds terribly romantic to live in a typical Parisian bedroom with a curved wall under a cliché grey tin roof. It is actually unpractical, cold and damp, but I'm happy to be here. I hadn't realise that I had been missing Paris and its gardens, its museums and its buildings. I still don't know what the future holds and I am terrified, but let's forget about this for a minute and let's enjoy a song instead.

I'm over the moon now that I have a good version of photoshop that can open my raw files on a computer that works. I've been playing around a lot and I'm working on a few pictures that will soon be on the blog. I'm also working on a different project that might end up making an appearance if I am satisfied with it. The first test run was quite pleasing so quite a bit of work ahead.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and I will leave you with Mr Cash.
