Memphis was the first stop on our honeymoon. And it wasn't easy to get there! We flew from London to Chicago, which went alright - as much as it can for me since I'm terrified on a plane. In Chicago we had to catch a second plane to get to Memphis. We waited, announcement, delays, announcement, no delays after all, boarding, technical problems with the flaps on the wings. Right. We stayed 2 hours in the plane on the ground. I kept falling asleep and having nightmares. We finally took off at the time we were supposed to land.

After that, it all went great. We stayed only three full days and this is what we did in a non-chronological order: we walked a lot, and we were the only ones. We went to famous places like Sun Studio and Graceland, but I will talk more about that. It was hot and sunny but we managed not to get burnt. We ate burgers in a diner - Dyer's on Beale Street. We ate the best ribs I have ever eaten at Rendez-vous, it's at the back of a building in an alley, ask your way to find it. We walked along the Mississippi river, and it felt like home. We ate too much for breakfast at the hotel. We walked for hours in Midtown and discovered lovely houses. We stopped for a coke before passing out and ended up eating the biggest onion rings we've ever seen at Hueys. We drank on Beale Street at night. We saw where Martin Luther King was shot dead. We saw a baseball game. Part of it at least. We chatted with strangers. We laughed. We enjoyed. We loved it.
